☮Serenity, Shooting for the Stars and Self-Care ✨

Can you believe we got a "cold front" in the middle of July? By cold front, we really mean the temps are in the 90's, but we'll take take any excuse to get outside and be a little more comfortable. After a miss from Hurricane Barry and flash flooding almost weekly, we could use a little time to destress and take care of ourselves.

Can you believe we got a “cold front” in the middle of July? By cold front, we really mean the temps are in the 80’s, but we’ll take any excuse to get outside and be a little more comfortable. After a miss from Hurricane Barry and flash flooding almost weekly, we could use a little time to destress and take care of ourselves.

Serenity in Storyville

Not only is yoga a great workout, but it can help clear your mind and left your mood. Health educator, advocate and studio owner Adrianne “Ajax” Jackson was in search of a space to open a yoga studio in New Orleans. She settled on the spot on Basin Street, which has always played an important role in local history — especially when it comes to black female entrepreneurship. Click here to read her story.

Shootings for the Stars

With cooler temps and a bit of a breeze at night, it’s the perfect time to get outside and take a look at the stars. There are plenty of spots to stargaze in the city, or if you want to take a little trip to clear your mind, we’ve even thrown in a state park or two (because we know city lights don’t help the view). Click here to see where you can admire the heavens without going too far.

‘Risk it for the Biscuit’

Nothing says comforting like food, and the brunch at DTB is sure to hit the sweet spot. The mac and cheese has gruyere fondue, the crispy oyster croque madam is trés magnifique, and the beef brisket will make you risk it for the biscuit.
