The 2nd annual Jeff Goldblum Day took place Saturday at Artisan Cafe & Tattoo Gallery in Garfield. Jeff Goldblum Day was started by Matt McKelvey, a tattoo artist at Artisan Tatoo and Shauna Burd, who was the shop manager last year. The first Jeff Goldblum Day offered T-shirts and there is a Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park belt buckle that was created for this year’s celebration.

The Origin of Jeff Goldblum Day

The inspiration for “Jeff Goldblum Day” dates back 15 years. Pittsburgh City Council named July 13, 2004, Jeff Goldblum Day in the City of Pittsburgh.

Jeff Goldblum is originally from Homestead. In addition to acting in a number of blockbuster and B-movies, Goldblum tours with his band “The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra.” Mildred Snitzer was the name of Goldblum’s music teacher growing up.

The first Jeff Goldblum Day celebration was held on July 13, 2018, and was so successful they planned a second celebration for 2019.

On Saturday afternoon, Goldblum fans were gathered at Artisan Cafe & Tattoo Gallery to celebrate Jeff Goldblum Day together. Jeff Goldblum himself stopped by to join the celebration.
