When Dr. William Hunter, a pathologist at Creighton University Medical Center, arrived home from work that evening in the Dundee neighborhood of Omaha, he made a harrowing discovery: Someone came into the house and killed his son, Thomas, and their housekeeper, Shirlee Sherman. The case would go unsolved for years until 2013, when another brutal crime reminded detectives of a crime scene from 2008.
