40 North @ Alphabet City // Northside

City of Asylum announced on Facebook that a new restaurant will be moving into the restaurant space that is connected to the bookshop (this used to be Bruge on North). The executive chef will be Bethany Zozula who was most recently the chef at the Whitfield in the Ace Hotel.
La Bodega // Southside

What we know: La Bodega will be bringing tacos, burritos and fresh Aguas Frescas to Carson Street. La Bodega will be opening up right next to Viridis.
Mount Oliver Bodega // Mount Oliver?
According to chef Kevin Sousa’s recent Instagram post, this bodega will offer wine and food. Based on the name, we assume this will be located in Mount Oliver.
Arlington Beverage Club // Allentown

The Arlington Beverage Club has been in the works for a few years. According to a January 2020 article from the Pittsburgh Current, Kevin Sousa plans to bring elevated bar food to this space that once housed a neighborhood social club.
From Sousa’s Instagram post:
“a wonderful time capsule of an OG Pittsburgh bar (formerly a private social club) – with wood paneling, vinyl bar stools and that oddly comforting grandma’s house smell completely intact.”

What we know: New owners are bringing ice cream back to Swissvale. The Dari Delight building has been vacant for years and work is underway to reopen the shop by the summer.

Goodlander Cocktail Brewery // Larimer

What we know: Goodlander is the latest project from cocktail expert Wes Shonk. (Wes wrote our guide to Pittsburgh vodkas and our guide to egg nog last year.) Goodlander is setting up shop on Hamilton Avenue in Larimer. Near KLVN coffee and East End Brewing. Check out their crowdfunding video to learn more (plus, they’ve already met their funding goal).
