Daiquiri bar may be moving in to former Krewe du Brew location

Krewe du Brew has closed its doors, and the site may soon become a daiquiri shop.

A new daiquiri bar may be taking over the location once belonging to Krewe du Brew coffeehouse at 1610 St. Charles Ave. (Yes, this means that Krewe du Brew has closed. Yes, we are bummed, too.)

In order to open a bar with the site’s current zoning designation, the owners of the possible future daiquiri shop, Tiger Paws Daiquiris and Grill, must first apply for a zoning change with the City Planning Commission and City Council. But before submitting an application to the Planning Commission, Tiger Paws must first host a community meeting to hear feedback and concerns from possible future neighbors.

That meeting will be held on Aug. 1 at 6 p.m. at the Main Branch of the New Orleans Public Library at 219 Loyola Ave.

With plans for some minor renovation, if approved, Tiger Paws is projected to open Nov. 1. It would have indoor and outdoor seating, and hours of operation would be 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. daily.
