“Plate It, Picklesburgh” is a special from WTAE all about Pittsburgh’s love of pickles. Dave Forman, host of Very Local’s cooking competition show, “Plate It, Pittsburgh,” introduces you to some of the most interesting pickle foods from the Picklesburgh festival and Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 anchor Elena LaQuatra checks in with the curators at Heinz History Center to share some of Pittsburgh’s pickle history. All of this pickle history is served up with a side of pickle trivia and pickle puns, of course.

- Gosia’s Pierogies shares their special fresh dill pierogi.
- Bae Bae’s Kitchen is known for their kimchi. Located on Liberty Avenue Downtown, Bae Bae’s is open for lunch and dinner.
- The Warren Bar is a cocktail bar located on 7th Street Downtown. The Warren is owned by Spencer Warren, a cocktail expert who has been behind the bar of several Pittsburgh establishments before opening The Warren.
- Millie’s Ice Cream serves up a special pickle sorbet for Picklesburgh. Millie’s is a local franchisee that is known for offering several gourmet flavors, including dairy-free options.

“Plate It, Pittsburgh” is a very Pittsburgh cooking competition show. Watch things heat up in the kitchen as two Pittsburgh-based chefs go head-to-head to create a three-course meal utilizing ingredients sourced from one of the city’s unique marketplaces. This cooking competition series, led by host Dave Forman, is a fun celebration of Pittsburgh’s chefs who are infusing the spirit of the city into their culinary creations.

Picklesburgh is an annual festival held in Downtown Pittsburgh in July. The festival has been named “Best ‘Best Specialty Food Festival’ In America by USA Today in 2019, 2021 and 2023. The Picklesburgh Festival is organized by the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership.
