Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dr. John was a worldwide ambassador for New Orleans music blending jazz, funk, blues, pop, boogie woogie, and rock and roll. This is how we send him off.
The parade featured 24 floats, 60 marching groups, and over 3500 participants in what is billed as the largest LGBT+ parade on the Gulf Coast.
The beautiful sunshine kept everyone in bright spirits and we couldn’t help but step in and enjoy the fun.
Jazz Fest isn’t just about the music that fills your sound holes on the side of your head. It’s also enjoying the culture of the city itself. That means parades. But not Mardi Gras parades — we mean those smaller and more intimate parades with Mardi Gras Indians.
It is more intimate than the block party of Super Sunday, more sacred than the raucousness of Mardi Gras.

In lieu of just beads and signature throws, cabbages, kisses and flowers fell on the Irish Channel on Saturday as the annual parade that marks St. Patrick’s Day weekend rolled through the streets.
The Society of Saint Anne paraded through the Marigny and Bywater on Mardi Gras morning as the walking group celebrated its 50th anniversary from its founding in 1969.
The best costumes come out on Mardi Gras.
