MONDAY, JUNE 29

Black Tech NOLA 2020 – Virtual Conference | 10 a.m. | More information sent upon registering | Free
The 3rd Annual Black Tech NOLA 2020 presented by Entergy & JPMorgan Chase & Co. will be held June 29 – July 1 as a VIRTUAL CONFERENCE. The Black Tech NOLA 2020 Inclusive Innovation Conference is now a FREE EVENT and will illuminate the intersection of Tech, Art & Culture.

Join SAGE New Orleans – NOAGE and the LGBT+ Archives Project of Louisiana for a very special presentation and panel discussion on the history of Pride in New Orleans! A presentation by New Orleans LGBT historian, Frank Perez, will be followed by a panel discussion with Mark Gonzalez, Michael Hickerson, Valda Lewis, and Dr. Catherine Roland.

Robin Barnes Presents #SongBirdatHome | 7 p.m. | Instagram Live and Facebook Live | Donations encouraged
Join Robin Barnes, the Songbird of New Orleans and her husband Pat Casey every Monday night for a one-hour set as they bring a concert right from their living room to yours!

Zumba Live Stream | 7 p.m. | Zoom (link sent after registering) | Free
The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission has partnered with Footprints to Fitness to offer a free 30-minute zumba class on Zoom! The class is led by a dance instructor and is cardio-focused, but appropriate for all levels. Register here and you’ll receive a link to the Zoom class.

TUESDAY, JUNE 30

Skinfolk Salons: Black Women & Political Power | 6 p.m. | Zoom (link sent after registering) | Free
Inspired by Angela Tucker’s documentary, “All Skinfolk Ain’t Kinfolk,” a 2017 experimental film profiling the contentious race between two Black women running for mayor of New Orleans, these private virtual gatherings create a safe space for BIPOC and allies to convene, ask questions and interrogate the unique role Black women hold in positions of political power. Literary League New Orleans Book Club | 6 p.m. | Details sent after RSVPing | Free
The New Orleans chapter of Literary League will gather virtually to discuss The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett. 

Level 1 – Absolute Beginner Adult Tap | 7 p.m. | Zoom (link will be sent upon registering) | 1 class for $15; 6 classes for $80; 12 classes for $150
If you’ve never taken a tap dance class, or have had less than six months of classes, this is the class for you. Absolute Beginner Tap is an introductory level tap class designed for adult students looking to enjoy an engaging rhythmic workout in a fun and positive environment! Each week you will receive a 45-minute live virtual dance class, as well as access to weekly supplemental practice videos. New Orleans Budget Breakdown: How is Our Money Spent? | 7 p.m. | Zoom | Free
Are you curious to know how it might look in New Orleans to redirect funding from the police to other agencies? Several local organizations look into it during what is sure to be an interesting conversation.

Clown Town TV Premier Party: Episode 13 | 8 p.m. | Facebook | Tips and donations accepted on PayPal and Venmo
Clown Town features a rotating cast of queer NOLA Clowns as well as special guests from afar! It’s a little bit sideshow, a little bit vaudeville and plenty of New Orleans charm for this special Pride episode! Tune in via the Facebook page for Episode 13 as well as to watch earlier episodes.

Virtuosic jazz pianist Jon Cleary plays an hour of music with another guest every Tuesday night. This week Mr. Cleary is joined by Ivan Neville.

Anders Osborne put on an awesome show at the Ardmore Music Hall last December. Lucky for all of us, Ardmore is restreaming the performance on Wednesday evening. 

Electric Vibez Presents: Electric Underground Ep. 4 | 5:20 p.m. | Twitch | Donations encouraged
Electric Vibez is back at it again with yet another episode of Electric Underground!  This time, local producer Kashmerik is bringing his crew for a wide variety of EDM with more than double our normal weekly line-up. There’ll be over five hours of unique music from nine different producers ready to showcase their music to our community!

A History of New Orleans Architecture (6-Week Seminar) | 6 p.m. | Zoom (link sent after registering) | $75 for full 6-week series
Friends of the Cabildo is hosting a 6-week seminar on the history of New Orleans architecture with architect Robert Cangelosi. The series of two-hour seminars will examine New Orleans Architecture from the city’s founding in 1718 to the present day. From the early Colonial and American period to the Modern Movement and Mid-century Modern, each week Mr. Cangelosi will explore the city’s architectural history with 3-4 styles each class for two hours. The seminar is $60 for FOC Members and $75 for general admission. A Zoom link will be provided before the class starts and participants can watch the class for 30 days after each session.

Front Porch Fest VIII | 6:30 p.m. | Facebook Live | Fundraiser
Singer-songwriter Adam Pearce is back on his porch for his eighth live stream show since self-quarantine began. All tips earned by Adam during the gig will be donated to One Heart NOLA, whose mission is to provide necessary resources to local children and families in crisis.

French Conversation Group | 7 p.m. | Zoom | Free
Join L’Union Française for a free French conversation group that is open to members, students, and the general public. All levels of French are welcome to attend. Anne Babson, instructor at L’Union Française, will host. This is a chance to practice speaking French in an informal setting.

DJ Kelly Green | 7 p.m. | Twitch | Free
The Fillmore hosts a three-hour live stream show with DJ Kelly Green every Wednesday night. Check it out!

Live FitNOLA Class — Pilates | 7 p.m. | Zoom | Free
The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission is leading virtual exercise classes every day of the week (often, both, in the evening and during the day). This Wednesday night class is focused on pilates, but classes throughout the week are all different. Check out a list of the full offerings here and here to find out when they’ll be leading classes in yoga, fitness, line dancing, swing, hip hop and much more! Virtual Happy Hour at Garden District Book Shop | 5 p.m. | Facebook Live | Free
Each week during the pandemic, the Garden District Book Shop has hosted a virtual happy hour featuring a New Orleans author. This week’s guest is Matthew Griffin, whose novel, “Hide” was the winner of the 2017 Crook’s Corner Book Prize, a Stonewall Honor Book, and longlisted for the PEN/Bingham Prize for debut fiction. The questions are always great, and there’ll be time for you to ask some questions, as well!

Ogden After Hours At Home | 6 p.m. | Zoom and Facebook Live | Donations encouraged
Ogden Museum has made their weekly “Ogden After Hours” series a virtual event featuring Southern musicians and DJs performing from the comfort of their own homes.

Like a gumbo pot, health and wellness company Footprints To Fitness created their master Fitness Fusion class to provide something for everyone… a true fusion of kickass workout with a whole lot of New Orleans culture. More than just a workout, it’s an experience that combines yoga, pilates, strength training, weight training, cardio, and barre ALL IN ONE CLASS! This class will be live streamed on Zoom. Every Thursday, the New Orleans Renters Rights Assembly is hosting a call to educate New Orleanians about what’s going on with rental and mortgage policies, as well as organizing to create a more equitable world. Live from Your Living Room with the Victory Six Swing Band | 7 p.m. | LiveStream or Facebook Live | Fundraiser
Join The National WWII Museum for a night of music and dancing with a virtual performance by the Victory Six Swing Band! Donations of $25 or more to the Museum’s COVIID Response Fund during the performance will automatically be entered to win a pair of tickets (valued at $200) to next year’s Victory Ball: A Salute to Service on Friday, May 14, 2021.
