Strippers Under 21 Win Another Victory

Young dancers won't have to abide by a Louisiana law passed in 2016.

by Alex Galbraith | September 21, 2018

Strippers who aren’t yet old enough to drink scored another victory on Thursday. The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans upheld a federal district judge’s injunction blocking enforcement of a Louisiana law setting the minimum age for exotic dancers in the state at 21.

The three women who filed the initial lawsuit against the state were 18, 19 and 20 at the time of the suit’s filing. The Louisiana law was blocked in that initial filing because the district judge said that the law was too vague regarding how covered young dancers would need to be.

So, the young women of New Orleans who make their living by dancing can continue their guerrilla marketing campaign of inserting passes into ironic books.
