Toys are one of those things that we never outgrow. No matter how old we are, there is still fun to be had, and whether you are shopping for a child, or someone who is just a child at heart, a good toy store will transport us to a world where fun and imagination are allowed to take hold. Here in New Orleans, we are fortunate to have a wide selection of amazing toy stores. For this Top 5-04 list, I want to highlight a few of the toy stores that New Orleans has to offer.

Idea Factory has been making handmade wooden toys and items since 1975 when George and Peggy Bacon opened the store as a contemporary art gallery. The toys here are more on the “old school” end but are still fun and stimulating for any child or collector. At Idea Factory you will find hand-carved puzzles, games, marionettes, pull and push toys, trucks, and trains. There’s also a wide selection of hand-carved items that are sure to interest adults, such as clocks and bottle stops.
